Affirmations: In Brief

I took up yoga a few years ago, and when we closed our class—legs crossed, hands folded, hearts open, my teacher would read a short message from her phone to send us back out into the world. Our yoga class was kept dark, and she was sending us into the light. She was sending us to be the light.

Even though my schedule has not allowed me to visit yoga as much as I’d like anymore, I still think about breathing and stretching, meditating and grounding, so today, I’d like to share a few affirmations.

Affirmations might feel “woo-woo” or new age. It might feel millennial or “spiritual” instead of religious. But I think setting intentions for the day is always a good idea. Choosing our energy is always a good idea. So much attempts to shape our energy—emails, cars on the road, phone calls, responsibilities—it might be worthwhile to take control over our day, our minutes, seconds, and hours, to decide what we want our day to be.

Isn’t prayer a meditation? An affirmation?

Shouldn’t we command our day?

So Here’s My List.
